October 13th - November 2nd we will take time to pray for our country, our leaders, citizens and those that serve the public.

Plan to set aside time for daily prayer October 13 - November 2nd. We have designated a topic of prayer for each day. Please revisit the site daily starting October 13th for updates and resources.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are in a unique position.  We can do something no other gathering of people can do.  We can pray.  Think about that for a moment.  Prayer is not critical for the functioning of a grocery store, a gas station or a fast food restaurant.  Prayer is absolutely critical for a church.  It is not some practice we simply do but prayer is an anchored relationship.  You and I can go before the Creator of the universe and pour out our hearts to the One who is also our Heavenly Father.  Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

We are in a time of need.  A pandemic.  A contentious election.  Political strife. Natural disasters. Social unrest.  We live in a country which needs followers of Jesus Christ to stand up and pray!  Paul wrote to one church, “Pray without ceasing,“ (1 Thessalonians 5:17).  The opportunities to intercede are all around us!

If you would like one model to follow use the A.C.T.S. outline to help provide structure to your prayer times.

Begin by worshipping God for who He is. Think of one of His perfections, for example, God’s holiness. You can start with something like, “God, You are holy.”

Take time to confess any sin. What a promise we have in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sin, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Thank God for a blessing in your life.

What an awesome mystery that the God who created the galaxies and the stars as well as the smallest animals and plants, says to us through the Apostle Peter, “casting all your anxieties on Him, because he cares for you,” (1 Peter 5:8).

We will have virtual weekly prayer times at 7pm. Join us on the Community Church Facebook page on the following dates:
