General Announcements

Serve the City Weekend is September 22-24, 2023. As a church we will get involved in service projects across the city of Oshkosh so we can be the hands and feet of Jesus. Sign up to join us at community-church.com/servethecity. If you have questions or need help signing up please call Kristen at (920) 231-7070.

Join us on the FIRST TUESDAY of each month for a time of Worship & Prayer together as a church family. We will kick off our First Tuesdays on October 3rd at 6:30pm.

Community Kids Fall Fest on Sunday, October 22nd from 2pm-4pm. Join us for a family-fun afternoon with trunk or treating, face painting, bouncy houses, games and activities for the whole family to enjoy. If you are interested in decorating a vehicle and participating in the Trunk or Treat, sign up at community-church.com/fallfest.

CANDY DONATIONS NEEDED! Community Kids is now collecting individually-wrapped candy for Fall Fest. Please drop off in the church office or at the CK check-in desk.

Join us in welcoming Dakota Homolka as the new Tech Director at Community Church Oshkosh. He and his wife, Anna have been married for 5 years. His daughter Madelyn is 7. As the Tech Director, Dakota ensures that services and events of CCO utilize technology efficiently, effectively, and strategically to enhance the experience of those attending CCO.

The church office will be closed Monday & Tuesday September 18-19th. The church staff will be gone on a retreat. We will be monitoring voice mails and emails. Please leave a message if you need to get in touch with someone.

We have a Child Dedication class coming up on October 1st
. If you are interested in having a child dedicated, please join Pastor Tommy at 10am. If you have any questions, call the church office at (920) 231-7070.

CCO Business Meeting will be held on October 8th at 10am. Join us for a Beyond Update and to vote in new members.

Bella Medical Clinic’s annual Walk for Life is Saturday October 7, 2023. The walk is not a protest but a peaceful walk raising awareness and funds for the programs and services offered at Bella Medical Clinic. CLICK HERE for additional information.

The Boys & Girls Club is in need of 6-8 volunteers on October 3rd from 3-6pm, to help with the Community Clothes Closet event. They are also in need of mentors, and have seasonal volunteer events around the holidays. If you would like more information or to be added to their volunteer list please contact Lauren at laurenn@bgcosh.org.

Groups

AfterParty! Campfire and Games on Friday, September 15th from 6:30-10:00 at Jed and Kelika Campbell’s home, 475 Glendale Ave, Oshkosh. Rain or shine! AfterParty! is for those 25-40 years old.

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday evenings from 6-8pm at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 808 N. Main Street Oshkosh. Come find freedom from your hurts, habits, and hangups and live the life God desires for you to live. CLICK HERE for additional information.

Young Adult

Young Adults Ministry meets on Tuesday evenings. Join us this week (September 19th) from 5-8pm at Damascus Road in Oshkosh as we help pack up their boutique as they prepare to move to a larger location. CLICK HERE for more information.

Young Adult Camping Trip is September 30th-October 1st near Devil’s Lake. Plan to meet at church by 10am on Saturday, we will car pool to the campsite from there.
Cost is $20 a person to cover the cost of the site and food/gas. Sign up at community-church.com/yacamping.

Missions

This month we are highlighting the ministry of Harry & Jenny Van Burik. They are founders of Cherith International. Cherith is helping people in Sri Lanka , Myanmar, and the USA. Find out more about their ministry at community-church.com/missionary.

Community Kids

Community Kids will be open for Nursery through 5th grade during the 8:30am & 11am services. Community Kids Unlimited will be available at the 8:30am service.

Join us at Evergreen or Bethel Home to Serve the City! We will be leaving encouraging chalk drawings and making cards for the residents. For additional information and to sign up go to community-church.com/servethecity.

CSM

CSM students are encouraged to SIGN UP to Serve the City on Saturday 9:30-2:30 at Touch a Truck (Leach Amphitheater). We will be hosting games and activities. If you serve you can earn VIP for ONE MONTH!

Sunday worship services are at 8:30am & 11am. We will be teaching on our Core Values of REACH -CONNECT-EMPOWER. Foundations meets at 10am with classes for all ages.

Community Kids will be open for Nursery through 5th grade during the 8:30am & 11am services. Community Kids Unlimited will be available at the 8:30am service.

Foundations is at 10am with classes for all ages, nursery - adult. For the semester of classes offered, go to community-church.com/foundations.

Lori Jacobson is teaching a class on the Foundation of Church Life.

CSM - High School (Grades 8th - 12th)
Join us as we encounter God's word together. We will be meeting in the office lounge.

Life in Babylon – Human Dignity (Worship Center)
What makes humans so unique out of all other creation?  When does human life begin?  When does it end?  Join us as we seek to think Christianly about things like abortion, physician’s assisted suicide, and the unique dignity that all human beings hold.

Baptism 101 (Room 1)
If you have committed yourself to following Jesus, He commands that you be baptized.  But why exactly?  Join us as we talk about the importance of baptism, and how we do baptism here at CCO.
